  122. OVERVIEW:
  123.  
  124. The Movie Editor is a suite of programs for creating, editing and playing back 
  125. movies on an IBM PC. Medit.exe is a program for creating PC text screen movies 
  126. from frames created by external applications. Each frame is a 4000 byte 80 x 
  127. 25 character screen shot containing both character and attribute information. 
  128. A suitable editor is supplied (FEDIT.EXE) or you may wish to use a third-party 
  129. application such as "The Draw" which is available as shareware from almost any 
  130. BBS.

  182. The Movie Editor is not a Public Domain program and is not free. The Movie 
  183. Editor is copyright (C) 1996 by Servile Software.
  184.  
  185. Non-registered users of this program are granted a limited two-week license  
  186. to The Movie Editor to evaluate the program's suitability for their 
  187. requirements.  Any usage of The Movie Editor beyond evaluation time period 
  188. requires registration of each copy of the program used. Use of non-registered 
  189. copies of The Movie Editor beyond the original evaluation period is 
  190. prohibited.

  192. The Movie Editor may NOT be modified in any respect, for any reason, including
  193. but not limited to, de-compiling, disassembling, or reverse engineering of  
  194. the program. The opening title screen, help screens, and all other proprietary  
  195. program output must never be altered, removed, bypassed or modified by any 
  196. means.

  198. You are free to distribute the PUBLICLY AVAILABLE shareware version of The 
  199. Movie Editor to others subject to the above restrictions and also the 
  200. following:

  202.         A.   No fee is charged for its use.
  203.  
  204.         B.   No renumeration  may be  accepted for  The Movie Editor.  This 
  205.              does not apply to computer access charges the system operators 
  206.              (Sysops) of or organizations owning bulletin board systems, 
  207.              online services, etc... may charge subscribers.
  208.  
  209.         C.   The Movie Editor must be copied in unaltered form, complete  
  210.              with files containing license information, the FULL 
  211.              documentation and all accompanying files.

  213.         D.   All shareware houses/distribution firms must make explicitly
  214.              clear that the diskette purchase containing any shareware
  215.              program has NOT registered the shareware with Servile Software.

  217. System Operators may make The Movie Editor available for download only if the
  218. above conditions are met.

  220. Commercial distributors of "Public Domain", "Shareware", and/or User Supported  
  221. software may distribute The Movie Editor subject to the above conditions

  223. The above license statement does not apply to the REGISTERED version of The 
  224. Movie Editor. The registered software of Servile Software is protected under 
  225. International Copyright and Trademark Laws. It must be treated just like a 
  226. book with certain exceptions as follows:

  228.         A. Servile Software authorizes the making of archival copies of the 
  229.            registered software for the sole purpose of backing-up your 
  230.            software and protecting your investment from possible loss.

  238.            transferred to the customer, but not the title to the software.

  243.            one sold or distributed. The provisions of this software license
  244.            shall also be applicable to third parties receiving copies of the

  247.         D. By saying, "just like a book", Servile Software means that the
  248.            registered software may be used by any number of people and may be
  249.            freely moved from one computer location to another so long as there
  250.            is ABSOLUTELY NO POSSIBILITY of it being used at one location while

  252.            different people in two different locations at the same time.

  298. The Movie Editor runs on any IBM PC or clone with a colour monitor (CGA, EGA, 
  299. VGA, SVGA) and supports the use of extended memory (XMS). Some utilities may 
  300. also require an ANSI device driver to be loaded, such as "ANSI.SYS". A hard 
  301. disk is also ESSENTIAL as a movie can easily run into several megabytes!

  1464. includes the suffix .ANS or .ASC, the file will be assumed to be an ANSI or 
  1465. ASCII text file and loaded accordingly. Otherwise, a binary frame will be 
  1466. assumed and loaded. You must have an ANSI driver installed to load ANSI 
  1467. pictures.
